Ongoing Art Call
New beer calls for new art, and we’re calling for you! For us at Aether Brewing, creativity is what enables our existence, but also our growth as a brewery. It allows us to express ourselves, share ideas and create meaningful connections. We want to share that feeling… So we have launched the Artist Amplifier Initiative, a collaborative springboard that looks to grow awareness and appreciation of homegrown artistic talent. At the core of the initiative is an ongoing open Art Call inviting Australian visual artists, of all styles and mediums – to submit their works to feature on our beer labels. While we craft what goes on the inside of the cans, we want to work with you on the outside. Get involved as we are really keen to grow together!
Submissions
We encourage emerging and established visual artists of all styles and mediums to be involved. Aether has evolved beyond our penchant for gothic street art, to embrace works of all kind, as long as we can represent it meaningfully on a beer can. Submit as many works as you like – existing pieces foremost, as we are mindful of the time and effort that goes into the creative process. While the Artist Amplifier Initiative is currently geared toward supporting the visual arts, we are keen to support all creative endeavours, where possible, so yell out if you have any ideas on how we can work together to create positive experiences. The Art Call for the Artist Amplifier Initiative is now open, and there is no submission deadline – its an ongoing initiative! See our TERMS OF USE for more information prior to submitting.
Selection, Curation + Staying in the Loop
We will select the work of an artist, like you, to feature on our beers as we release them, but keep in mind, that we’re never going to stop releasing new liquids – so keep the submissions coming! We’re looking at over 20 new cans each year. Artists will retain the rights to their works; and will be remunerated with a $1000 cash grant, beer to share, Aether merchandise, and promotion through our media and social platforms. We are also evolving a number of other collaborative opportunities like art shows, print sales, artist residencies and more. It is a big endeavour, and we don’t claim to be experts in all aspects, so we are getting the help of some seasoned contributors to the arts community. They will collaborate with the team to curate submissions, and decide what pieces go on what beers. We are actively encouraging suggestions for refinement and opportunities for evolution to ensure we are genuinely supporting the arts community. We will make sure to communicate with you all along the journey through our new artist community on Facebook, otherwise get in touch with us at art@aetherbrewing.com.au.
