‘Bloom depicts the vivid peach-coloured sunsets typical of Brisbane winters. Highlighting iconic Australiana such as the pale green Eucalyptus leaves and vibrant pink flowers of Corymbia Ficifolia with the bright red beak and colourful plumage of the Rainbow Lorikeet. Despite being painted on the Southside, it features a house from paddington on Brisbane’s Northside and is a subtle reminder of togetherness. Drapl & Zookeeper are Queensland based artists whose large-scale works span from inner city laneways to remote regional communities throughout Regional Australia. Over the last decade, as the street art phenomenon evolved, the dynamic duo began exploring new regions for their large scale work. Together, they have painted some of the most celebrated rural murals and grain silos in the country. With an unwavering commitment to pushing creative boundaries, the duo looks for inspiration deep within the iconic Australian landscape and its diverse culture.

When collaborating in regional places, they strive to create strong relationships with the people within the communities in which their artwork lay. These relationships are integral in the development of the themes and concepts within the artwork. The relationship between their artwork and its community can invariably offer an opportunity for people to unite and celebrate their unique identity. It is this quest that pushes Drapl & Zookeeper to move in uncharted areas.
