Barrel-Aged Old Ale

Introducing Limited Release 176, a classic British Old Ale. Otherwise known as a British stock ale, this style is meant to deliver a blend of fruity esters and malty goodness. We’re happy to say our brew delivers on these notes and more – it’s a story of time, aging and flavour pairings that prove to be a true delight.

Pouring copper with a deeply darkened hue, it captivates the eyes from the first pour. The flavour and aromas are dominated with strong notes of oak and vanilla paired with the fruity acidity of raisins. Adding in hints of nuttiness, aromas of brandy, rum and molasses and topped off with a symphony of fruity yeast-forward notes like guava and peach, our Old Ale gives reminiscent notes of sultana breads and classic Christmas cakes.

Blended from three base brews, one fresh and two of which aged in American oak barrels for 18 and 24 months each, we see a nuanced, slightly sweet and lightly sour experience. Finishing dry but smooth, our Old Ale is a masterpiece for the discerning palate.
