Facter

Victoria, Australia

Bio & Rationale

“Ichtek” was a turning point – sketched in monsoonal rain in a battered Cairns Queenslander, fuelled by Mayan and Aztec studies and a stack of sci-fi. For nearly three decades, Australian street artist Facter has expanded that breakthrough into a universe: The Known, a post-singularity realm inhabited by Irikanji creatures that leap from walls, toys, and prints. He founded Invurt (Australia’s longest-running street-art magazine) and built the infamous ‘This Is Not a Toy Store’ in Melbourne before adding another craft to the list – distilling at Tano Spirits.

We chose “Ichtek” for Aether’s Mexican Lager because both speak fluent myth – crisp refreshment paired with ancient-future iconography. On the can, the linework beams like neon archaeology: familiar shapes, new language. It’s the sweet spot where subculture, ritual, and a cold beer shake hands.
