“The Monkey Sailor” keeps turning up in Tim Molloy’s pre-apocalyptic universe – sailing cosmic seas, courting disaster with a grin. Molloy’s practice spans surreal comics, paintings and sculpture, stitched together by dream logic, symbolism, and a black-humour ballast that stops the dread from capsizing the boat. Themes recur – death and rebirth, expanding consciousness, self-destruction and discovery – all drawn with a confident, fever-bright line.
