ABOUT THE ARTIST
‘Felicity’s work comes largely from an intuitive place. Growing up in Western Australia, travelling Mexico and living in Texas, she’s always had an affinity for desert landscapes which is evident in ‘Prickly Pear Field, Sunbury’. Felicity recalls driving through a prickly pear field, strangely out of place in her local Melbourne suburbs which brought back memories of her time spent in drier, desert climates. She depicts a dirt path leading through a prickly pear cactus field and in the distance is an orange balloon that stands out brightly against the blue sky. Felicity inspires a sense of timelessness, past, present and future all wrapped up in the stretching path that leads to nowhere. A look back to where you’ve come from or a glance down a future path.’
Felicity gained an Honours Degree in Fine Art while studying classical ballet and character dancing. She has taught in art school, photography college and worked in film production and post-production. She has studied Writing for Children and has written and illustrated several children’s books, short stories, and poems. She’s had many exhibitions of her illustrations and paintings and numerous private commissions. Her work is represented in Imago Mundi, the Luciano Benetton collection in Italy. She has two adult children and is also a beekeeper and beachcomber near her home in Anglesea, Australia.
Cheers Felicity for sharing your experiences and you art with us. This piece is the perfect visualisation of our Australian-made Mexican Lager.
